Psychometric tests in Kenya are scientific methods used in the country to measure individuals’ mental capabilities, behavioural style and interests.

Psychometric Tests are designed to measure candidates’ suitability for a role based on the required competencies and aptitude (or cognitive abilities).

Why use psychometric Tests?

As an employer, you gain a competitive advantage by understanding your people at the deepest levels.

This includes how they think, their natural tendencies, behaviors, preferences and attitudes toward key workplace issues.

This helps you select the right people for the right roles and helps you manage them to their full potential.

What does the Psychometric Test in Kenya entail?

The individual is evaluated against twenty attributes:

  1. Five under thinking style.
  2. Nine under behavioral traits.
  3. Six under occupational interests.

Individuals who complete our psychometric Tests in Kenya are asked to answer 182 questions.

These questions map to specific attributes on the STEN (standard ten) graph and correspond to a numerical STEN value of 1 through 10.  The numerical values correspond to the candidate’s likelihood of exhibiting certain behaviors.

How does the Psychometric Test in Kenya work?

1. Prepare Models

Prior to assessing candidates, our experts help you develop peak performance models for your jobs in question. These are the models you will then use to compare job candidates against.

The Performance Model is a benchmark that identifies the characteristics that differentiate between the right fit and top and/or bottom performers for a given job.

The information used to build the Performance Model is derived from the job description of the role.

This makes the hiring of each position to be different and unique for every organization. The duties in a certain role are then defined into the cognitive, behavioral and occupational interests’ areas and the scoring comes out in a Standard Ten (STEN) scale.

2. Deliver the assessment

Once established, we deliver the psychometric test to the candidates over the Internet—by simply forwarding a link. The assessment does not need to be monitored, so the candidate can take it from any computer with Internet access. The assessment requires approximately one hour of the candidate’s time.

3. Scoring:

The system instantly scores the psychometric test and informs the candidate where they can access the psychometric Test report. Results are available immediately and the Test report can be shared with the individual candidate or the company’s decision makers anywhere in the world.
